Shaun Paul Diaz composes in a rhythmic, ethereal orchestral style drawing from diverse influences, with cello as his primary instrument. As a world-class cellist touring internationally with major orchestras and collaborating on film projects, he needed his recordings to match his performance caliber.

The challenge was distinctive—standing out among cellists requires dialing in a unique cello sound that translates through the studio. We worked on mic selection, preamp choices, and mixing techniques that let his instrument cut through his compositions with clarity and presence. Beyond mastering his Dreamer album and Sonic Soul single, I guided him toward recording and mixing his own work, so he could experiment with adjustable parameters while maintaining broadcast-quality results.

Through video sessions and hands-on consulting, Shaun learned room treatment principles and mastering techniques. He now records world-class cello tones independently while refining his craft. His albums have sold tens of thousands of copies, and his orchestral arrangements continue reaching listeners worldwide.
