Producing: Nectar Moth

Nectar Moth creates intricate, emotionally moving music that blends folk, Celtic, and electronic styles. Her signature sound features advanced vocal overlays, complex rhythms and harmonies, and carefully crafted atmospheric effects using delays and reverb. She's meticulous about every sonic detail, with a clear vision for how her artistic elements should interact.

Working together meant matching her perfectionism. We tackled vocal mic selection and addressed de-essing issues—finding the right microphone and positioning to illuminate rather than fight her unique voice. Plosive and sibilance sounds can create harsh, unmusical artifacts on lead vocals; through corrective mixing techniques and collaborative screen shares, we refined each recording until her vision emerged clearly. With every track, her home recordings improved, and she gained confidence in her own technical control as an independent artist.

We produced Far Cry and The Wind Calls You Home from her Unfurl album, plus The Broken Tree—and created an alternative performance version with modified elements designed for live settings. The mixing and mastering process became a conversation, with Nectar seeing what I was creating in real time, learning how professional production decisions translate to finished sound. She's now empowered to push her artistic boundaries while maintaining the sonic quality her music demands.
